In her showroom presentation at KÖNIG GALERIE, Esra Gülmen brings together a selection of works that combine sharp wit, emotional nuance, and a distinct visual language. Her practice moves fluidly between sculpture, wall-objects, and text-based works, reflecting on personal and societal contradictions with a playful, ironic edge.

The presentation features works from the Uncensorable series, in which hand-painted mosaic works humorously subvert themes of censorship and repression, reclaiming space for desire, love, and freedom of expression. Sculptures from the Controversy Teeter-Totter series explore emotional dualities through interactive seesaws, offering a physical metaphor for the balancing act of human contradictions. The mirror work I We You adds a reflective dimension—both literally and conceptually—inviting viewers to consider the shifting boundaries of self in relation to others.
